Francesco Vittorio Bassan is an Italian entrepreneur and accredited sommelier, named among Forbes Italy’s Under 30 for his innovative contribution to the wine industry.
 
After university, he joined his family’s food and wine business, developing deep expertise in viticulture, production, and distribution. In 2018, driven by a desire to redefine the traditional wine experience, Mr. Bassan co-founded Katkoot with his brother Giovanni, merging technical excellence with artistic experimentation. At Katkoot, he oversees production, quality, and international partnerships, ensuring that each label, crafted between Italy, France, and Champagne, expresses both authenticity and avant-garde character.
 
He holds a Third-Level Sommelier certification from both the Italian and International Sommelier Foundations (FIS & WSET III), embodying the balance between rigorous enological knowledge and creative vision.

Mr. Bassan has transformed the vision of winemaking, bringing a new voice to the industry by collaborating with producers and creating wines that are simultaneously sustainable, innovative, and rooted in the finest crus between Italy and France.
 
He studied economics and management at the University of Venice.
