Marco Bizzarri is President and Co-founder of Forel, a Milan-based fund that invests in companies in fashion, luxury, and design.
Prior to founding Forel, Mr. Bizzarri was President and Chief Executive Officer of Gucci, where he reestablished the company’s leading luxury position, tripling revenue and doubling the organization in seven years. Prior to Gucci, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Kering’s Luxury Couture and Leather Goods Division, responsible for managing Bottega Veneta, Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Brioni, Stella McCartney, Altuzarra, Sergio Rossi, Christopher Kane, and Tomas Maier. In 2009, Mr. Bizzarri was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Bottega Veneta, where he tripled revenue in six years. The Italian executive first joined the Kering group in 2005 when he was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Stella McCartney, where he grew revenue sixfold in three years. He held his first Chief Executive Officer position at Mandarina Duck, after beginning his career at Arthur Andersen.
Over his 35-year career in fashion and luxury, Mr. Bizzarri has received several accolades, including the French Knight of the Legion of Honor, British Fashion Awards International Business Leader of the Year (3x), WWD Edward Nardoza Honor for CEO Creative Leadership, Fast Company’s Most Creative People in Business, and the UN Humanitarian of the Year.
Mr. Bizzarri graduated from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
