Born in Jamaica, Rachel Scott studied fashion design at the Istituto Marangoni in Milan before beginning her career at Costume National in Italy. She later moved to New York to join Rachel Comey, where she served as Vice President of Design, and launched her acclaimed brand Diotima in 2021. She was awarded the CFDA Emerging Designer of the Year in 2023, followed by American Womenswear Designer of the Year. Most recently, she received the Fashion Trust U.S. Ready-to-Wear Award. In September 2025, Ms. Scott was appointed Creative Director of Proenza Schouler. She continues to lead her namesake brand, Diotima, while simultaneously leading design at Proenza Schouler.
