Speaker Bio

Grand-daughter of Clarins Founder, Jacques Courtin, and daughter of Christian, long-time President of the Group, Virginie Courtin joined her uncle Olivier as Managing Director of the Group in 2022 before the age of 40.

For Ms. Courtin, her introduction to the business began at an early age. Along with her sister and two cousins, she was trained by her grandfather, discovering how the Group worked, testing new products, and already taking part in the decision-making process. This innate knowledge of the company has been an asset, enabling her to always be in line with the fundamental identity of the Group and its values in every decision she makes.

Ms. Courtin showed a desire to take an active part in the Clarins adventure very early on and set about making this a reality. In 2005, she graduated from EDHEC Business School and began her career with internships at Group subsidiaries in the United States and Asia. In 2010, she gained further experience as Manager of Marketing Operations and Partnerships in the Fashion and Beauty department at Printemps. At the same time, she launched her own ethical, organic ready-to-wear brand, Luz Collections, demonstrating the ecological convictions she inherited from her father and would later strive to perpetuate at Clarins. Her return to the Group came in 2013 via Mugler Mode, which joined Clarins in 1997. Initially Marketing and Communications Manager, Ms. Courtin was appointed to the role of General Manager in 2016, working to breathe new life into the emblematic brand.
