William Lauder serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. (ELC), bringing four decades of company leadership defined by innovation, strategic growth, and a deep commitment to people and culture. With 30 years of service on the board, he is its longest-standing member.
 
Mr. Lauder’s storied career at ELC began in 1986 as Regional Marketing Director of Clinique U.S.A. Over the decades, his accomplishments include founding the Origins brand; evolving the portfolio through the addition of M·A·C, Aveda, and Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, among others; and executing one of the most influential partnerships in modern beauty with the creation of TOM FORD BEAUTY and later the acquisition of the TOM FORD brand itself in 2023.
 
He is Professor of Decision Making in the Leadership Chair at the Wharton School and has been recognized with Wharton’s Teaching Commitment and Curricular Innovation Award. He currently serves on the Lauder Institute board of governors and the Wharton leadership advisory board.
 
Mr. Lauder’s commitment to service is as deep as his commitment to business. He serves as Co-Chair of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, a trustee of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, and Chairman of the Fresh Air Fund, among others.
