Jeannette Smits van Oyen is Managing Director and Global Head of Consumer and Retail Investment Banking at J.P. Morgan. She has advised on a wide variety of global M&A and capital market transactions in her more than 25 years in the industry.
Her most recent transactions in global beauty include the sale of Olaplex to Henkel, sale of Medik8 to L’Oréal, sale of rhode to e.l.f., and advising Galderma in connection with the strategic partnership with L’Oréal. In 2024 she led the IPO of Puig, take private of L’Occitane, and sale of Creed to Kering.
Ms. van Oyen began her career in Sydney in 1994 as a tax lawyer at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Macquarie Bank, before starting in consumer investment banking in Amsterdam then joining J.P. Morgan in London in 2004. She co-chairs the J.P. Morgan EMEA diversity, opportunity, and inclusion council and is a member of the advisory council of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London.
Ms. van Oyen holds a bachelors of business and law from the University of Technology, Sydney, is qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA), and holds a masters of international finance from the University of Groningen in The Netherlands and SKEMA Business School in France.
