Matteo Lunelli is President and Chief Executive Officer of Ferrari Trento Winery, Italy’s leading producer of luxury sparkling wines, founded in 1902. Under his leadership, Ferrari Trento has won the title of Sparkling Wine Producer of the Year six times, and in 2021 Ferrari Trento was Formula 1’s Official Toast, one of the most iconic awards ceremonies in sports.
Mr. Lunelli is also Chief Executive Officer of Gruppo Lunelli, an Italian beverage group which, along with Ferrari Trento, includes Surgiva, Segnana, Tenute Lunelli, Bisol 1542, and Tassoni. All of these brands have long traditions and a strong link to their territories.
Strongly committed to promoting the Italian lifestyle, Mr. Lunelli is Chairman of Fondazione Altagamma, which gathers leading high-end Italian companies, with the mission to increase the competitiveness of the Italian cultural and creative industries thus contributing to Italy’s economic growth. Previously, he was Chairman of the European Cultural and Creative Industries Alliance.
Mr. Lunelli is President of FT Private Market S.p.A., Vice President of La Finanziaria Trentina S.p.A., and board member of Coster Tecnologie Speciali S.p.A. He is also an independent board member of EQUITA Group. Passionate about art, he was Vice President of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto, and he is a board member of the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation and of the Laureus in Italy.
His commitment to bringing Italian excellence to the world earned him the nomination as Entrepreneur of the Year by EY in 2022 and Guido Carli Prize in 2023. Mr. Lunelli was awarded the honor of Cavaliere del Lavoro (Knight of Labour) in 2024 by the President of the Italian Republic.
He graduated from Bocconi University with a degree in economics.
