Dr. Liang Hong joined Huatai Securities Co., Ltd. in July 2022 as Chairwoman of the Institutional Business Committee, overseeing the firm’s equity business.
 
Previously, Dr. Liang worked at Hillhouse Capital management as Director of the Institute of Innovation and Industry Studies. Earlier in her career, she worked at China International Capital Corp. (CICC), was a member of the firm’s management committee, and served in various roles including Head of Research, Head of Capital Markets, and Co-head of Sales and Trading. Dr. Liang joined CICC from Goldman Sachs Asia LLC, where she served as Managing Director and Chief China Economist and Co-head of Asian Pacific Economic Research. Before that, she worked at the International Monetary Fund as an economist.
 
She has published widely in both academic as well as leading business journals on exchange rate issues and the Chinese economy.
 
Dr. Liang obtained her doctor of philosophy in economics from Georgetown University, and her bachelor’s degree in international relations from Peking University.
