Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant co-founded Coperni in 2013. Mr. Meyer grew up in the South of France and attended a military school, which informed his first memories and inspirations in terms of garments, while Mr. Vaillant grew up in Sanary-sur-Mer, in a family of doctors and was passionate about mathematics and fashion. The duo met ten years ago at their Parisian fashion school, and it was love at first sight, both personally and professionally. Mr. Meyer studied fashion design and pattern making, while Mr. Vaillant studied fashion business and management. Their complementarity is fundamental.
After five years at Balenciaga and Chanel for Mr. Valliant, and many design projects for Mr. Meyer, they fulfilled their dream by launching their own brand, Coperni. Mr. Meyer serves as Creative Director and Mr. Vaillant serves as Chief Executive Officer.
In 2015, they were appointed Creative Directors of the historic French brand Courrèges, but after two years, they left the brand and relaunched Coperni.
