Cathy O'Brien is Founder of The Wellspace for Women, a community dedicated to helping women strengthen their emotional and physical wellbeing through every stage of life. A licensed master social worker (LMSW), Ms. O’Brien provides supportive counseling for women navigating cancer, caregiving, and major life transitions, bringing together clinical training with decades of leadership in the beauty and wellness industries.
Before entering clinical practice, she helped build some of the world's most respected beauty and wellness brands, holding executive leadership roles at Jo Malone London, La Mer, and Naturopathica. While serving as Chief Executive Officer of Naturopathica, she developed their Oncology Care program that trained therapists to safely provide skincare and massage treatments for people undergoing cancer treatment at institutions, including Mount Sinai and Penn Medicine's Abramson Cancer Center.
After being diagnosed with breast cancer herself, Ms. O’Brien experienced firsthand the physical and emotional challenges of treatment and recognized how few resources existed to support patients beyond medicine alone. That experience inspired her to co-found Skin Union, a skincare company created to provide safe, effective, and affordable products for people with treatment-compromised skin and to advocate for supportive skincare as an essential part of cancer care.
Across every chapter of her career—as a beauty executive, clinician, entrepreneur, and cancer survivor—Ms. O’Brien's work has been guided by a single belief: that caring for people means caring for the whole person. Whether through conversation, community, or thoughtfully designed products, she is committed to helping women feel supported, informed, and empowered during life's most challenging moments.
