Speaker Bio

Valerie Macaulay is Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of La Ligne, the New York-based ready-to-wear label she launched in 2016 with Meredith Melling and Molly Howard, built around the enduring appeal of the stripe and a philosophy of versatile, wear-anywhere design.

Ms. Macaulay's eye was shaped over nearly a decade at Vogue, where she rose from Fashion Assistant to Associate Market Editor, Market Editor, and ultimately Bookings Editor—a trajectory that put her at the center of the magazine's model casting and talent relationships while giving her a front-row seat to shifting trends and consumer behavior across the industry.

After leaving Vogue in 2013, Ms, Macaulay partnered with fellow alum Ms. Melling to found La Marque, a fashion consultancy that laid the groundwork for La Ligne. Today, she leads creative direction and styling for the brand, translating her editorial instincts into a signature aesthetic that has made La Ligne a go-to for modern, fashion-forward women.
