Sue Y. Nabi has served as Chief Executive Officer of Coty Inc. since September 2020. She is a true veteran in the beauty space, with roughly 30 years of experience across key strategic focus areas for Coty including the mass and luxury channels; core fragrances, color cosmetics, and skincare categories; as well as successful brand building across key international markets.
Born in Algeria, Ms. Nabi began her career at L’Oréal in 1993, where her passion, ambition, and talent for bringing brands alive established her reputation for exceptional leadership and innovation. In 2004 she was promoted to General Manager of L’Oréal France and, less than two years later, was named the youngest ever President of L’Oréal worldwide. Her tenure saw the L’Oréal brand’s strongest years of growth in the decade - reaching the €4 billion mark in 2009 - while her decision to evolve the slogan of L’Oréal Paris to “because we’re worth it” cemented the brand’s commitment to inclusivity. During this period she was named Manager of the Year by Cosmétique magazine and won the Prix d’Excellence Marie Claire award three years in a row.
In 2009 Ms. Nabi was tasked with revitalizing Lancôme. The same recipe for success was applied to make Lancôme the brand of happiness, resulting in three years of up to double-digit growth and a record turnover of €3.2 billon. During her tenure, she pioneered the launch of the most successful fragrance of the last twenty years, 'La Vie est Belle'. Ms. Nabi left L’Oréal in 2014 to co-found a brand and product range with Nicolas Vu. After three years of meticulous development, Orveda was launched in 2017 as a green, clean, vegan, and genderless skincare brand.
Ms. Nabi has an advanced master's degree in marketing management from ESSEC in Paris and an engineering degree in agronomy and environment
