Melis del Rey is General Manager of Beauty, Baby, and Beauty Technology for Amazon U.S. stores, which includes oversight of Amazon’s Premium Beauty, Luxury Beauty, Personal Care, and Men’s Grooming businesses. Her responsibilities include division-level program leadership of Selection and Pricing for U.S. Consumables and driving the business vision and technology innovation on behalf of customers. Her mission is to make Amazon the most trusted beauty destination and inspire customers through unique shopping experiences across an unlimited selection of premium and everyday products. Previously, Ms. del Rey led Amazon Beauty in the United Kingdom, developing it from its early days to a trusted go to, one-stop shop beauty destination for U.K. shoppers.
She is a seasoned leader with a career spanning two decades in the consumer goods and online retail industries. Having worked for multinational companies in a variety of leadership roles and countries, she is passionate about building and developing businesses globally and has a proven track record in e-commerce, brand building, business planning, P&L management, and influencing key stakeholders to build support for common goals. Prior to joining Amazon, Ms. del Rey held several leadership roles at Procter & Gamble, including overseeing marketing and sales of its beauty care brand portfolios in Europe.
She holds a Ph.D. in new product development and engineering design and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Nottingham University.
