Speaker Bio

Pete Nordstrom is President and Chief Brand Officer of Nordstrom Inc. (JWN), a leading fashion retailer dedicated to bringing the best in service, experience, and fashion to customers. Mr. Nordstrom oversees strategic initiatives that touch all aspects of the company and sets the vision for how the brand inspires customers. He also supports the company’s merchandising, store operations, and supply chain organizations, and has served on the board of directors since 2006.

Through bold investments in emerging categories and partnerships with both established and new brands, he has helped Nordstrom innovate the customer shopping experience and redefine the role fashion plays in customers’ lives. He has led major strategic initiatives that have strengthened Nordstrom’s reputation and kept the brand relevant, such as building the designer offering to a $1.5B business, evolving Nordstrom’s mix of brands and categories, and bringing in limited distribution brands as exclusive partners.

Since taking over leadership of the company in 2000, Mr. Nordstrom and his brothers grew the business from $5.1B to $15.1B, increased the number of stores by more than 200 locations, and opened Nordstrom’s first flagship store in New York City as an experiential shopping destination. Driven by a Nordstrom principle to “leave it better than we found it,” the organization achieved 100 percent pay equity for employees, earned a spot on Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For list for 20 years in a row, and set a target to give back more than $50M in communities where they do business by 2025.

Mr. Nordstrom is Co-founder of SMooCH (Seattle Musicians for Children’s Hospital), an annual fundraising event for Seattle Children’s Hospital that has raised over $20M for patients and their families. He is also the host of The Nordy Pod podcast.
