Stéphane de La Faverie is President and Chief Executive Officer of The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) and a member of the board of directors. He assumed his current positions in January 2025 and is responsible for the company’s strategy, financial objectives, and investment priorities. He is focused on building on the company’s storied legacy while shaping a forward-thinking vision for its future. With more than 25 years of experience in prestige beauty, Mr. de La Faverie has an outstanding track record of building and leading global brands and a comprehensive understanding of global markets, local relevance, and consumer dynamics.

Mr. de La Faverie joined ELC in 2011, and most recently served as Executive Group President where he oversaw a diverse portfolio—from billion-dollar brands such as Estée Lauder to scaling and developing brands including The Ordinary and Le Labo. Throughout his time at the company, he has demonstrated an uncompromising focus on brand excellence and innovation, as well as an ability to deliver profitability with discipline, speed, and efficiency. 

During his leadership of the Estée Lauder brand from 2016 to 2022, Mr. de La Faverie harnessed growth opportunities, including hero products, digital-first and data-led marketing, new technologies, and high-growth channels. He played an instrumental role in enhancing ELC’s fragrance portfolio during a pivotal moment for the category, and Mr. de La Faverie also shepherded and scaled smaller brands, including the integration and expansion of industry disruptor, The Ordinary, as part of ELC’s acquisition of DECIEM.
