Speaker Bio

Sarah Krasley studies what happens when tectonic forces—automation, climate collapse, and economic restructuring—rearrange the livelihoods of working people. And then she builds solutions to help them adapt.

She is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Shimmy Technologies, an AI-powered industrial ed-tech company that helps workers—especially women in supply chains—reskill for more technical roles using mobile-first, accessible training tools. To date, Shimmy’s solutions have supported over 12,000 workers across Bangladesh, Honduras, and beyond, helping under-resourced TVET systems modernize and boosting factory efficiency by an average of 20%.

As a Visiting Fellow at Cornell University’s ILR School, Ms. Krasley is currently researching how automation and climate adaptation converge in the same labor market, with a focus on job redesign, reskilling systems, and equity-centered transition strategies.

Prior to founding Shimmy, she led an emerging technology group at Autodesk, where she applied digital tools to improve energy efficiency and comfort in factories, and helped designers and engineers embed sustainable materials into the product development process.

Her work has been recognized by MIT Solve, XPRIZE, IEEE, IBM, Microsoft, Fast Company, Acumen Fund, and the World Economic Forum. She serves on the boards of Americas Apparel Producers Network (AAPN) and Sewn Products Equipment & Suppliers of Americas (SPESA), two global trade associations shaping the future of industrial work.

She holds a master of business administration from the University of San Francisco and a bachelor of fine arts from Pratt Institute.
